Shepherd U Holdings presents
Opening a World of Grace
Shipibo Rao Event at The Sentinel
August 28 – September 1
At the heart of this transformative five-day, four-night retreat are two traditional Shipibo ayahuasca ceremonies. Guided by Peruvian Maestros, these ceremonies are designed to open the mind to expanded states of consciousness, cleanse physical and energetic impurities, and foster deep inner healing. The sacred combination of ayahuasca and chacruna plants not only purifies but also illuminates, opening pathways to profound visions and insights.
This immersive experience includes a three-call pre-retreat coursework series and a three-call post-retreat integration series, spanning from August through October to help you maximize the full benefits of the journey. It also features a guided 15-day detox cleanse and two months of membership to all SUH weekly offerings, including yoga, Yoga Nidra, breathwork, and meditation.

The Maestros
The Shipibo tribe of the Peruvian Amazon is known for its intricate geometric handicrafts and highly skilled shamans, masters of spiritual and mental healing. With a population of 30,000, they live in villages led by elected Chiefs, with land rights protected by Peruvian law. Their livelihood relies on sustainably managing natural resources, through fishing, hunting, farming, and selling crafts. Despite modern pressures, the Shipibo have preserved their language, traditions, and cultural identity while balancing traditional and modern life.
Jose Lopez Sanchez, born in Raoboya, was named after his grandfather, the revered Meraya healer Jose Lopez, to inherit his healing wisdom. Starting plant medicine at age 7, Jose completed a year-long dieta with the Shihuahuaco tree by 10, followed by dietas with Niwe Rao and Noya Rao. After his grandfather’s passing, he continued learning from his uncle and mother, Maestra Ynes. By 16, he was healing across Peru and now shares his work globally, known for releasing negative energies and restoring balance with tenderness, clarity, and humility.

The expansion of my heart and being from attending last weekend's retreat keeps moving me to tears. The capacity to experience love and accept myself as I am continues to expand beyond what my mind thought possible. My heart is open. I am humbled by God's/the Universe's grace with me.

In my life, I really orchestrate everything around my clients. I give my partner hell about certain ways that he works with our clients because I want to protect them from being upset or being bothered. And it lands in my body. I'm in pain all the time of some sort or the other... And, the short story is, I'm completely pain free today. I mean... this was just not predictable.

My experience has been one of literally being broken open. I was a slab of concrete walking into this place. And I'm not that anymore... My heart was broken so long ago by things that happened in my life, things that I has dealt with in therapy, but they were still in my body and I was just so rigid. And, I'm willing to give my heart, fully, to anyone now. I feel so free. That's just the best way to describe it.
